6.7m see David Platt flee on Monday's Coronation Street

Coronation Street was the most-watched programme on Bank Holiday Monday (May 4), overnight figures show.

6.72m (31.3%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 145k (0.6%) on +1 as David did a runner with the kids after discovering that Sarah and Callum are an item. The show later remained steady as 6.72m (28.3%) returned at 8.30pm and 177k (0.8%) on +1 as Callum threatened David after learning of his desperate actions.

EastEnders attracted 5.97m (25.8%) at 8pm on BBC One as Vincent's storyline continued, while BBC Three's repeat screening secured 307k (1.6%) back in its old 10pm timeslot.

Emmerdale interested 5.51m (28.3%) at 7pm on ITV and 122k (0.5%) on +1 as Laurel turned violent with Marlon.

Hollyoaks appealed to 788k (4.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with the aftermath of the attack on Ste, while E4's first look followed with 485k (2.5%) at 7pm.

Elsewhere, Paige's lie to Josh in Neighbours was seen by 611k (8.1%) at the earlier time of 1.30pm on Channel 5, while 653k (4.7%) caught the teatime screening at 5.30pm.
