Coronation Street topped Monday evening's soap ratings (March 16) with the build-up to Katy's exit, overnight figures show.
Corrie was the most-watched programme of the day, bringing in 7.49m (35.6%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 162k (0.7%) on +1 as Katy agreed to respect Chesney's wishes by not moving to Portugal with Joseph. Airing against BBC One's coverage of the Reading vs. Bradford game, 6.75m (28.9%) returned at 8.30pm and 222k (1.0%) on +1 as an emotional Chesney gave Katy his blessing to go after all.
Emmerdale attracted 6.36m (32.4%) at 7pm on ITV and 188k (0.9%) on +1 as thieving Pearl told a shocking lie to cover her tracks.
Hollyoaks interested 836k (4.5%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with Cameron's discovery of Tom and Peri's baby secret, while E4's first look followed with 637k (3.2%) at 7pm and 221k (1.0%) on +1.
Neighbours' 30th anniversary week kicked off with 654k (8.8%) at 1.45pm and 802k (5.5%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Imogen found herself planning Daniel and Amber's wedding.
Home and Away entertained 249k (3.3%) at 1.15pm and 598k (3.5%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 391k (2.1%) at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, Doctors was seen by 1.51m (20.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
