EastEnders was Christmas Eve's most-watched soap on first-run showings, overnight figures show.
6.57m (27.9%) tuned in at 8pm on BBC One as Dean continued his attempts to blackmail Linda and Mick planned a proposal. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 360k (2.3%) at 11pm.
Coronation Street attracted 6.51m (29.8%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 286k (1.3%) on +1 as Gary's problems continued in the build-up to Christmas.
Emmerdale pulled in 5.06m (24.9%) at 7pm on ITV and 207k (0.9%) on +1 as Andy fought with Robert on the eve of his wedding to Katie.
Hollyoaks' hour-long Christmas special interested 817k (4.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Ste and John Paul tied the knot and Will Savage returned to screens.
Airing against Corrie, E4's first look managed 319k (1.5%) at the later time of 7.30pm and 110k (0.5%) on +1.
