Coronation Street topped Monday evening's soap ratings (December 22) with the aftermath of Tony Stewart's infidelity, overnight figures show.



7.31m (32.8%) watched at 7.30pm on ITV and 124k (0.5%) on +1 as Tony regretted cheating on Liz with Tracy. 7.15m (29.5%) returned at 8.30pm and 112k (0.5%) on +1 as the Armstrong clan continued to gang up on Gary.

EastEnders attracted 6.79m (29.4%) at 8pm on BBC One as Stacey uncovered the terrible truth about Dean. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 329k (2.0%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale interested 6.15m (28.8%) at 7pm on ITV and 142k (0.6%) on +1 with the latest tension between Charity and Moira.

Unusually, Hollyoaks pulled ahead as Channel 4's most-watched show of the day, bringing in 1.08m (5.3%) at 6.30pm with Dodger's ongoing kidnap ordeal. E4's first look followed with 615k (2.9%) at 7pm and 112k (0.5%) on +1.
