Coronation Street brings in 7.4m on Wednesday

Coronation Street topped the soap ratings on Wednesday evening (December 10) with the fallout from David's discovery, overnight figures show.

7.35m (35.3%) watched at 7.30pm on ITV and 267k (1.2%) on +1 as David's marriage to Kylie remained on the rocks due to her recent drug-taking.

Emmerdale attracted 6.25m (32.2%) at 7pm on ITV and 207k (0.9%) on +1 as the Dingles discovered that Belle had been reported to her youth offenders officer after trashing David's shop.

Waterloo Road interested 2.74m (12.2%) at 8pm on BBC One as the devastating truth about Sue and Hector led to Simon leaving the school.

Hollyoaks managed 844k (4.5%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as baby Rose suffered a health scare, while shocking news for Tegan was seen by 650k (3.3%) at 7pm on E4's first look and 126k (0.6%) on E4+1.

Home and Away appealed to 285k (4.4%) at 1.30pm and 632k (3.6%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look followed with 363k (1.9%) at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, Doctors continued with 1.58m (24.8%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
