Steve storyline seen by 7m on Friday's Coronation Street

Coronation Street was Friday evening's most-watched soap (October 10) with Steve McDonald's depression storyline, overnight figures show.

6.99m (35.0%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 150k (0.7%) on +1 as Steve paid a visit to the doctor with concerns about a mole on his arm, while 6.58m (30.7%) returned at 8.30pm and 184k (0.9%) on +1 as Steve was told that he may have depression after opening up to the GP about his recent troubles.

EastEnders attracted 6.47m (31.1%) at 8pm on BBC One as Max made the drastic decision to secretly expose his fling with Summerhayes. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 354k (2.4%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale bounced back from Thursday's audience dip, bringing in 6.13m (32.8%) at 7pm and 159k (0.8%) on +1 as Declan exposed Charity's lies to her family.

Hollyoaks mustered 855k (4.9%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with the conclusion to the hospital siege week. E4's first look then topped the day's multichannel ratings with 817k (4.4%) at 7pm and 131k (0.6%) on +1.

Neighbours interested 597k (9.2%) at 1.45pm and 786k (5.7%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Josh tried to make amends for his recent actions.

Home and Away continued with 214k (3.3%) at 1.15pm and 597k (3.7%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look claimed 306k (1.7%) at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.35m (20.9%) at 1.45pm.
