EastEnders topped Tuesday evening's soap ratings (September 30) as Phil Mitchell and Sharon Rickman's wedding day continued to go wrong, overnight figures show.
Airing from the slightly earlier time of 7.25pm, the Walford drama pulled in 6.95m (35.1%) on BBC One as vengeful Shirley exposed her affair with Phil in the middle of the wedding speeches at The Vic. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 464k (3.7%) at 10.30pm.
EastEnders' audience share of 35.1% was its highest since Lucy Beale's funeral on May 21.
Emmerdale attracted 5.98m (33.0%) at 7pm on ITV and 262k (1.3%) on +1 as Jimmy continued to struggle following Juliette's shock revelation.
Holby City continued with 4.27m (20.7%) at 8pm on BBC One as the day of Harry's hearing arrived - the show's highest figure since May 13.
Hollyoaks managed 915k (5.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Nancy and Darren's marriage hit the rocks, while E4's first look had 711k (3.9%) at 7pm and 198k (1.0%) on +1.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 677k (11.4%) at 1.45pm and 850k (6.6%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 272k (4.5%) at 1.15pm, 597k (3.9%) at 6pm and 348k (2.1%) with 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, Doctors appealed to 1.39m (23.6%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
