Kylie's big mistake brings in 6.3m on Friday

Coronation Street was Friday evening's top-rated soap (September 12) as Kylie Platt's downward spiral continued, overnight figures show.

The Weatherfield drama pulled in 6.32m (34.4%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 128k (0.6%) on +1 as Kylie took some of Max's ADHD medication in a moment of desperation, while 5.91m (28.8%) returned at 8.30pm and 107k (0.6%) on +1 as Kylie ignored Eva's advice to be honest with David.

EastEnders attracted 5.56m (28.9%) at 8pm on BBC One with the continuing build-up to next week's fire at the Moon house. BBC Three did not air a repeat screening.

Emmerdale claimed 5.1m (30.8%) at 7pm on ITV as Charity and Megan's war continued.

Hollyoaks managed 665k (4.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 122k (0.7%) on +1 with Theresa's brief escape from prison, while E4's first look topped the day's multichannel ratings with 750k (4.5%) at 7pm and 180k (0.9%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 634k (10.6%) at 1.45pm and 729k (6.1%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away interested 172k (2.8%) at 1.15pm, 576k (4.1%) at 6pm and 320k (2.1%) with 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, Doctors was seen by 1.24m (21.1%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
