Coronation Street dipped below the 6 million mark outside of its usual timeslot on Wednesday evening (May 21), overnight figures show.
The Weatherfield soap's latest episode was hurt by ITV's schedule changes, bringing in just 5.79m (34.5%) at 7pm and 494k (2.7%) on +1 as Peter agreed to run away with Tina.
Hollyoaks attracted 833k (5.7%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Sinead's deception was publicly exposed, while E4's first look followed with 698k (4.2%) at 7pm and 146k (0.8%) on +1.
Over on Channel 5, Paul and Brennan's latest clashes in Neighbours interested 597k (11.7%) at 1.45pm and 636k (5.7%) at 5.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.17m (23.2%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
