Coronation Street topped the midweek soap ratings (April 2) as Peter fell off the wagon following his recent troubles, overnight figures show.
7.32m (34.6%) watched at 7.30pm on ITV and 313k (1.4%) on +1 as Peter hit the bottle before confessing to Steve about his affair with Tina.
Emmerdale interested 6.19m (32.2%) at 7pm on ITV as Val's HIV secret was exposed, adding 223k (1.1%) on +1.
Hollyoaks attracted 906k (5.2%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with the aftermath of Katy's tragic death, while E4's first look continued to perform strongly with 879k (4.6%) at 7pm and 203k (1.0%) on +1.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours appealed to 593k (9.2%) at 1.45pm and 861k (6.2%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away entertained 234k (3.5%) at 1.15pm, 557k (3.5%) at 6pm and 478k (2.7%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, Doctors continued with 1.39m (21.6%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
