EastEnders stayed above the 7 million mark on Tuesday evening (March 18) with the latest from Janine's trial, overnight figures show.
Holding up well against ITV's coverage of the Chelsea vs. Galatasaray game, the Walford soap pulled in 7.1m (32.8%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Kat began to give false evidence in support of Janine at the court. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 315k (2.4%) at 10.30pm.
Emmerdale attracted 6.65m (33.0%) at 7pm on ITV and 112k (0.5%) on +1 with the aftermath of Priya's collapse.
Holby City, which was also up against the football, had 4.75m (20.7%) at 8pm for the second episode of two-parter 'Exit Strategy'.
Hollyoaks interested 970k (5.2%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Cindy, Mercedes and Lindsey confessed to Sam over Doctor Browning's murder, while the surprising outcome of the situation brought 703k (3.5%) to E4's first look at 7pm and 106k (0.5%) to E4+1 at 8pm.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours appealed to 619k (9.3%) at 1.45pm and 848k (5.8%) at 5.30pm, while the hostage drama at Irene's house on Home and Away gave the show its second-highest teatime rating of the year so far, with 731k (4.2%) watching at 6pm. 236k (3.4%) caught the Summer Bay drama at 1.15pm, while 469k (2.5%) saw 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.51m (22.6%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
