EastEnders ratings are dented by latest clash with Emmerdale

EastEnders topped Thursday's soap ratings (February 27) but was dented by its clash with Emmerdale, overnight figures show.

The Walford drama, which was up against its ITV rival for 15 minutes, averaged 6.4m (29.2%) from 7.30pm on BBC One as Luke ended his relationship with Stacey after learning of her dark past. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 441k (3.1%) at 10.30pm.

Airing from the earlier time of 6.45pm, Emmerdale dipped to 5.67m (27.3%) on ITV and 315k (1.5%) on +1 as Jai was duped in his attempts to track down Rachel.

Elsewhere, Hollyoaks attracted 874k (4.5%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Patrick ordered Maxine to change her statement regarding Jason. Afterwards, E4's first look was the most-watched multichannel programme of the day with 878k (4.3%) at 7pm and 146k (0.7%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 684k (9.8%) at 1.45pm and 866k (5.6%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 284k (4.0%) at 1.15pm, 675k (3.8%) at 6pm and 454k (2.3%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.58m (22.7%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
