Coronation Street topped the midweek soap ratings (January 29) as Roy continued to struggle following Hayley's death, overnight figures show.
Wednesday's episode pulled in 7.99m (36.1%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 268k (1.2%) on +1 with Roy's surprise threat to boycott Hayley's funeral.
Emmerdale interested 6.99m (33.2%) at 7pm on ITV and 148k (0.7%) on +1 as Val confided in Victoria about her HIV scare.
Waterloo Road continued with 3.16m (13.9%) at 8pm on BBC One as Lenny's suspicions led to him taking matters into his own hands.
Hollyoaks attracted 1.14m (5.7%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with the shock murder of Jim McGinn, while E4's first look topped the multichannel ratings for the third night in a row with 749k (3.6%) at 7pm and 144k (0.6%) on +1.
On Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 663k (9.1%) at 1.45pm and 834k (5.1%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away had its highest teatime rating of the month so far with 713k (3.8%) at 6pm. The lunchtime visit to Summer Bay managed 256k (3.3%) at 1.15pm, while 5*'s first look grabbed 458k (2.3%) at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.66m (22.9%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
