EastEnders topped Tuesday evening's soap ratings (January 14) as Carol Jackson was pushed to breaking point, overnight figures show.
7.63m (34.9%) watched at 7.30pm on BBC One as an angry Carol paid a visit to her daughter Sonia for some breathing space in the fallout from her breast cancer diagnosis and split from Masood. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 384k (2.6%) at 10.30pm.
Emmerdale attracted 6.71m (31.9%) at 7pm on ITV and 172k (0.8%) on +1 as Charity revealed her scheme to Rachel.
Holby City appealed to 4.92m (20.9%) at 8pm on BBC One as Colette came under scrutiny and Dominic returned.
Hollyoaks managed 997k (4.9%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Sinead realised she had made a big mistake by sleeping with Robbie, while E4's first look followed with 740k (3.5%) at 7pm and 212k (0.9%) on +1.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 702k (10.2%) at 1.45pm and 828k (5.1%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away continued with 306k (4.3%) at 1.15pm, 661k (3.5%) at 6pm and 374k (1.8%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, Doctors was seen by 1.46m (21.3%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
