'EastEnders' tops soap ratings on Thursday

EastEnders came out on top in the soap ratings battle on Thursday, according to overnight data.

An average of 7.44 million (34.5%) tuned in to the aftermath of Alfie and Roxy's wedding day at 7.30pm on BBC One. The BBC Three repeat was seen by 523,000 (3.5%) at 10.30pm.

ITV's Emmerdale was seen by 7.08m (33.9%) at 7pm (76k/0.3% on +1), as Charity became a dangerous drunk on a digger.

A second episode dipped to 6.29m (27.9%) at 8pm (177k/0.7%), in which Charity made a move on Cain.

On Channel 4, Hollyoaks attracted 1.02m (5.2%) at 6.30pm, as Tony faced a life-or-death situation. E4's first-look episode brought in 635k (3.0%) at 7pm (129k/0.6%).

Earlier on BBC One, Doctors appealed to 1.39m (21.6%) at 1.45pm.

On Channel 5, Neighbours interested 506k (7.9%) at 1.45pm and 792k (5.0%) at 5.30pm. Home and Away was seen by 245k (3.6%) at 1.15pm and 636k (3.5%) at 6pm. 5*'s first-look gathered 420k (2.1%) at 6.30pm.
