Coronation Street topped the soap ratings on Wednesday, according to overnight data.
The ITV soap was seen by 8.05 million (38.8%) at 7.30pm as Hayley started planning her own death, with an added 212,000 (1.0%) tuning in on +1.
Emmerdale attracted 6.91m (36.0%) at 7pm when Amy began custody plans for Kyle (209k/1.0%).
On Channel 4, Hollyoaks appealed to 804k (4.4%) at 6.30pm, while E4's first-look brought in 501k (2.6%) at 7pm (142k/0.7%). E4's Hollyoaks Later gathered 323k (2.0%) at 10pm (112k/1.4%).
Earlier, BBC One's Doctors was seen by 1.32m (21.1%) at 1.45pm.
On Channel 5, Home and Away interested 214k (3.2%) at 1.15pm and 671k (4.0%) at 6pm. 5*'s first-look brought in 491k (2.7%) at 6.30pm.
Neighbours continued with 544k (8.7%) at 1.45pm and 888k (6.2%) at 5.30pm.
