'Coronation Street' Platt plot continues with 8.1m on Friday

Coronation Street was ahead in Friday evening's soap ratings (October 4) with the latest twists and turns for the Platt family, overnight figures show.

8.13m (40.0%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 189k (0.8%) on +1 as Kylie considered telling David the truth, while 7.87m (33.8%) returned at 8.30pm as David had to deal with the realisation that Nick remembers everything about their road crash.

Emmerdale attracted 6.57m (35.0%) at 7pm on ITV as the drama surrounding Amy and Kyle continued, adding 136k (0.6%) on +1.

EastEnders managed 6.07m (27.9%) at 8pm on BBC One as Michael caused trouble for Roxy and Ronnie. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 304k (2.1%) at 10.30pm.

Hollyoaks grabbed 723k (4.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with a nasty surprise for John Paul, while E4's first look followed with 504k (2.7%) at 7pm and 104k (0.5%) on +1.

On Channel 5, Neighbours appealed to 680k (10.2%) at 1.45pm and 804k (5.7%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 319k (4.5%) at 1.15pm, 559k (3.5%) at 6pm and 435k (2.5%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors claimed 1.31m (20.0%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
