'Emmerdale': Andy, Amy scenes bring in 7.1m on Tuesday

Emmerdale and EastEnders both stayed above the 7 million mark in Tuesday evening's soap ratings (October 1), overnight figures show.

The latest visit to the Dales, which saw Andy commit to a future with Amy, pulled in 7.12m (37.3%) at 7pm on ITV and 171k (0.7%) on +1.

EastEnders appealed to 7.02m (33.3%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as David threatened to leave Walford again. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 540k (4.0%) at 10.30pm.

Holby City interested 4.63m (19.2%) at 8pm on BBC One with the show's big car crash cliffhanger.

Hollyoaks had 913k (5.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Ste faced the music in court, while E4's first look followed with 540k (2.8%) at 7pm.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 706k (11.1%) at 1.45pm and 814k (5.7%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 348k (5.2%) at 1.15pm, 688k (4.2%) at 6pm and 445k (2.5%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.36m (21.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
