Coronation Street remained above the 8 million mark in the midweek soap ratings (Wednesday, September 25), overnight figures show.
The latest visit to Weatherfield interested 8.05m (38.2%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 257k (1.1%) on +1 as Michelle quit her job at Underworld following a row with Peter.
Emmerdale pulled in 6.9m (36.0%) at 7pm on ITV as Eric inadvertently revealed Amy's deception to Joanie, adding 197k (0.9%) on +1.
Hollyoaks brought 808k (4.7%) to Channel 4 at 6.30pm with Ziggy and Frankie's passionate encounter, while E4's first look followed with 608k (3.2%) at 7pm.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours' whodunit mystery continued with 599k (9.8%) at 1.45pm and 822k (6.2%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 249k (4.0%) at 1.15pm, 619k (4.0%) at 6pm and 351k (2.0%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.23m (20.3%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
