Coronation Street topped the soap ratings on Wednesday (September 4) on ITV, overnight data reveals.



7.69 million people (38.6%) tuned in to watch the aftermath of Hayley's health news at 7.30pm, with a further 384,000 (1.8%) on +1.

Emmerdale interested 6.36m (35.2%) at 7pm (312k/1.5% on +1) as Cameron framed Adam for murder.

Channel 4's Hollyoaks attracted 841k (5.2%) at 6.30pm as Mercedes battled Browning. E4's first look brought in 700k (3.9%) at 7pm (126k/0.6%).

Earlier, BBC One's Doctors was seen by 1.36m (23.3%) at 1.45pm.

On Channel 5, Neighbours gathered 589k (10.0%) at 1.45pm and 771k (6.1%) at 5.30pm.
