Coronation Street was Wednesday evening's (August 28) top-rated soap with the aftermath of baby Lily's arrival, overnight figures show.
The midweek visit to Weatherfield brought in 7.36m (38.6%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 279k (1.4%) on +1 as Gail suggested a DNA test to determine whether Lily's father is David or Nick.
Emmerdale attracted 6.47m (37.3%) at 7pm on ITV as Paddy finally learned of Rhona's addiction, adding 287k (1.5%) on +1.
Hollyoaks claimed 760k (4.8%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Darren and Sienna worked through their problems, while E4's first look had 409k (2.4%) at 7pm and 165k (0.8%) on +1.
On Channel 5, Paul's struggle to help Kate in Neighbours interested 591k (9.3%) at 1.45pm and 771k (6.6%) at 5.30pm, while another 'Summer Bay's Sexiest' repeat airing of Home and Away had 55k (0.4%) at 6.30pm on 5*.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.26m (20.0%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
