Coronation Street easily topped the soap ratings on Friday night (August 16), according to overnight data.
7.67 million (42.1%) tuned in to watch Craig reveal his guilt over the fire to Karl at 7.30pm on ITV, with a further 252,000 (1.2%) watching on +1. The 8.30pm show was watched by 7.20m (34.8%) as Karl tried to silence Craig (290k/1.4% on +1).
Emmerdale attracted 6.04m (35.9%) at 7pm (212k/1.1%) earlier on ITV, as Cain prepared to kill Cameron.
On BBC One, EastEnders came second overall, appealing to 6.18m (32.8%) at 8pm, as Carl vowed to get revenge on Max.
Hollyoaks interested 855k (5.3%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4, as John Paul discovered the paternity of baby Matthew. E4's first look gathered 530k (3.2%) at 7pm.
Earlier, Neighbours brought in 630k (9.0%) at 1.45pm on Channel 5, and 754k (5.8%) at 5.30pm.
Doctors was seen by 1.27m (18.2%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
