Corrie attracted 7.31m (34.5%) at 8.30pm on ITV and 335k (1.6%) on +1 as the danger for Rita continued at the Red Rec.
Emmerdale gripped 6.24m (34.7%) at 7pm on ITV and 154k (0.8%) on +1 as Chas finally discovered the truth about Cameron and Debbie on the day of Gennie's funeral, while the audience increased to 6.7m (33.9%) at 8pm and 373k (1.8%) on +1 with the subsequent fallout for the Dingle family.
EastEnders interested 6.11m (32.0%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as the return of Carl's brother sparked trouble for Kirsty, while BBC Three's repeat screening secured 350k (2.4%) at 10.30pm.
Hollyoaks appealed to 942k (5.6%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 106k (0.6%) on +1 with Nancy's car stunt, while E4's first look had 617k (3.4%) at 7pm.
Over on Channel 5, Kate's baby fears in Neighbours were shared with 572k (7.8%) at 1.45pm and 796k (6.1%) at 5.30pm, while classic airings of Home and Away on 5* continued with 80k (0.5%) at 6.30pm.
