Coronation Street was Friday evening's top-rated soap (August 2) with the latest developments in the Nick and David storyline, overnight figures show.
7.14m (38.5%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 232k (1.1%) on +1 as Leanne was rocked by David's poison pen letter which hinted at Nick's secret, while 6.75m (32.5%) returned at 8.30pm and 304k (1.5%) on +1 as Nick finally realised that David could be his mystery tormentor.
Emmerdale attracted 5.93m (36.0%) at 7pm on ITV as Nikhil was given Gennie's all-important Dictaphone amongst a box of her belongings, adding 225k (1.2%) on +1.
EastEnders interested 5.66m (29.7%) at 8pm on BBC One as Kat desperately tried to help troubled Whitney. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 453k (3.1%) at 10.30pm.
Hollyoaks claimed 823k (5.3%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 119k (0.6%) on +1 as Ste's emotional storyline continued, while E4's first look had 471k (2.9%) at 7pm.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 532k (7.7%) at 1.45pm and 855k (7.1%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 239k (3.2%) at 1.15pm, 577k (4.0%) at 6pm and 406k (2.6%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.24m (17.8%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
