Coronation Street was Monday evening's most-watched soap

Coronation Street topped Monday evening's (June 24) soap ratings as the surrogacy storyline reached its conclusion, overnight figures show.

8.25m (38.7%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 209k (0.9%) on +1 as Tina and Izzy both started to doubt themselves in the battle for Jake, while 8.12m (35.6%) returned at 8.30pm and 230k (1.0%) on +1 to see Tina finally agree to hand the baby over.

EastEnders brought 6.97m (31.7%) to BBC One at 8pm as Lauren's health took a dramatic turn for the worse. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 419k (2.6%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale interested 6.38m (32.9%) at 7pm on ITV as Declan hoped to keep Katie quiet over the body on the festival site, adding 216k (1.0%) on +1.

Hollyoaks gripped 898k (5.0%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Anna tried to kill Patrick and Sienna, adding 102k (0.5%) on +1. E4's first look had 544k (2.8%) at 7pm and 148k (0.7%) an hour later.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 682k (9.6%) at 1.45pm and 941k (6.6%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away appealed to 270k (3.6%) at 1.15pm, 624k (3.7%) at 6pm and 414k (3.7%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
