Coronation Street tops Friday evening's soap ratings

Coronation Street was Friday evening's (June 21) most-watched soap as David kicked off his plan for revenge against Nick, overnight figures show.

7.42m (39.6%) watched at 7.30pm on ITV and 199k (0.9%) on +1 as David broke into Nick and Leanne's flat, while the audience rose to 7.5m (35.0%) at 8.30pm and 241k (1.1%) on +1 as he let his anger out by trashing the place.

EastEnders interested 6.11m (31.4%) at 8pm on BBC One as Lauren's problems continued. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 444k (2.7%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale brought in 5.75m (33.8%) at 7pm on ITV as Katie humiliated Declan, adding 191k (1.0%) on +1.

Hollyoaks appealed to 677k (4.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Anna targeted Patrick, while E4's first look had 475k (2.8%) at 7pm.

On Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 565k (8.8%) at 1.45pm and 875k (6.8%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 194k (3.1%) at 1.15pm, 577k (4.0%) at 6pm and 333k (2.1%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, Doctors was seen by 1.21m (18.8%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
