Coronation Street tops Monday evening's soap ratings

Coronation Street topped Monday evening's (June 17) soap ratings with David's shock discovery, overnight figures show.

8.24m (39.7%) watched at 7.30pm and 160k (0.7%) on +1 as David overheard Kylie talking about her one-night stand with Nick. The audience rose to 8.51m (36.5%) at 8.30pm and 210k (0.9%) on +1 as an emotional David considered his next move.

EastEnders brought 7.06m (32.2%) to BBC One at 8pm as Max was given a wake-up call over Lauren's drinking problem, while BBC Three's repeat screening secured 434k (2.8%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale interested 6.61m (34.8%) at 7pm as Rhona's erratic behaviour aroused suspicion, adding 146k (0.7%) on +1.

Hollyoaks claimed 869k (5.0%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Sienna's behaviour took a disturbing twist, while E4's first look had 551k (2.9%) at 7pm and 154k (0.7%) on +1.

On Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 655k (9.7%) at 1.45pm and 953k (6.9%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away entertained 238k (3.3%) at 1.15pm, 702k (4.3%) at 6pm and 445k (2.5%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.36m (20.2%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
