'Coronation Street' tops Friday soap ratings...

Coronation Street remained on top of the soap ratings on Friday (May 17) with the continued fallout from Gary's pass at Tina, overnight figures show.

The evening's first visit to Weatherfield, which saw Gary fearing the truth would come out, interested 7.66m (38.8%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 158k (0.7%) on +1. 7.56m (33.9%) returned at 8.30pm and 246k (1.2%) on +1 as Gary's guilt intensified.

EastEnders pulled in 6.29m (30.4%) at 8pm on BBC One as Dexter discovered that Ava had lied to him. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 413k (2.7%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale claimed 6.22m (33.8%) at 7pm on ITV with more twists in David's love triangle, adding 154k (0.7%) on +1.

Hollyoaks brought 848k (5.0%) to Channel 4 at 6.30pm as the aftermath of Texas's murder continued to play out, while E4's first look had 442k (2.4%) at 7pm.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 570k (8.7%) at 1.45pm and 879k (6.4%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away had 209k (3.1%) at 1.15pm, 678k (4.3%) at 6pm and 352k (2.1%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors mustered 1.26m (19.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
