Coronation Street tops the Bank Holiday soap ratings

Coronation Street was the most-watched soap on Bank Holiday Monday (May 6), overnight figures show.

7.59m (35.2%) watched at 7.30pm on ITV and 201k (0.9%) on +1 as Stella told Owen that she couldn't pay him for his work on The Rovers, while 7.55m (32.2%) returned at 8.30pm and 269k (1.2%) on +1 as Stella made a desperate offer to the angry builder.

EastEnders managed 6.6m (29.5%) at 8pm on BBC One as Michael and Kat were both left heartbroken. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 354k (2.4%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale brought in 5.87m (30.7%) at 7pm on ITV as Cameron tried to move Alex's body, adding 147k (0.7%) on +1.

Hollyoaks entertained 836k (5.2%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 102k (0.5%) on +1 with Freddie Roscoe's arrival, while E4's first look had 402k (2.1%) at 7pm.

On Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 567k (7.6%) at 1.45pm and 832k (6.5%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 245k (3.3%) at 1.15pm, 486k (3.2%) at 6pm and 358k (2.2%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
