Coronation Street tops Wednesday evening's soap ratings

Coronation Street topped Wednesday evening's soap ratings (April 24) as Chesney and Katy's relationship was rocked once again, overnight figures show.



The latest visit to Weatherfield was enjoyed by 7.88m (37.7%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 498k (2.2%) on +1 as Chesney was heartbroken to see Katy leaving Ryan's place.

Emmerdale appealed to 6.56m (34.4%) at 7pm on ITV as the Spencers faced eviction from Brook Cottage, adding 300k (1.4%) on +1.

Hollyoaks interested 898k (5.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as evil Clare paid a visit to Tom at The Dog, while E4's first look had 633k (3.3%) at 7pm and 117k (0.5%) on +1.

On Channel 5, Neighbours secured 780k (12.1%) at 1.45pm and 981k (6.9%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away entertained 285k (4.4%) at 1.15pm, 711k (4.4%) at 6pm and 361k (2.1%) with 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors brought in 1.34m (20.9%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
