EastEnders just edged Emmerdale in Thursday evening's soap ratings (April 11), overnight data suggests.
BBC One's soap was somewhat dented by a 15-minute overlap with its ITV rival, averaging 6.17 million viewers (28.5%) at 7.30pm as Jack and Sharon's wedding day arrived. It peaked at 7.3m (34.0%) after the clash, with 683,000 (4.0%) tuning in for the BBC Three repeat.
Emmerdale's hour-long episode - which saw Gennie struggle with her emotions on her hen night - achieved higher ratings than last week with 6.13m (30.4%) at 6.45pm. A further 242k (1.1%) tuned in on ITV+1.
Hollyoaks attracted 776k (4.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4, as Leanne discovered Will's secret, while E4's first look brought in 584k (2.9%) at 7pm.
On Channel 5, Neighbours attracted 708k (8.9%) at 1.45pm and 860k (5.6%) at 5.30pm, while Home & Away grabbed 225k (2.7%) at 1.15pm and 703k (4.0%) at 6pm, with 5*'s advance screening securing 486k (2.6%) at 6.30pm.
BBC One's Doctors was seen by 1.44m (18.0%) at 1.45pm.
