Coronation Street was Friday evening's (April 5) most-watched soap with the aftermath of Sunita's death, overnight figures show.
8.39m (38.3%) watched at 7.30pm on ITV and 216k (0.9%) on +1 as Dev told Aadi and Asha the devastating news, while 8.68m (35.1%) tuned in at 8.30pm and 344k (1.6%) on +1 as things continued to go Karl's way with Stella and Jason breaking up.
EastEnders interested 6.95m (30.1%) at 8pm on BBC One as Kirsty announced that she is pregnant. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 409k (2.5%) at 10.30pm.
Emmerdale appealed to 6.45m (32.4%) at 7pm on ITV as Thomas brought Belle back home, adding 122k (0.5%) on +1.
Hollyoaks managed 787k (4.3%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as the Chez Chez auction took place, while E4's first look had 567k (2.8%) at 7pm.
On Channel 5, Neighbours pulled in 634k (7.8%) at 1.45pm and 907k (6.0%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away grabbed 248k (3.0%) at 1.15pm, 637k (3.8%) at 6pm and 402k (2.2%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.5m (18.5%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
