Coronation Street topped Wednesday evening's soap ratings (April 3) with the exits of Sunita Alahan and Kirsty Soames, overnight figures show.
8.71m (39.1%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 490k (2.1%) on +1 as Sunita lost her fight for life following a visit from sinister Karl, while Tyrone and Kirsty came face-to-face for the final time.
Emmerdale interested 6.63m (33.2%) at 7pm on ITV with Nikhil and Gennie's decision to bring their wedding forward, adding 365k (1.7%) on +1.
Hollyoaks mustered 960k (5.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with Jen's comeuppance, while E4's first look had 621k (3.1%) at 7pm and 150k (0.7%) on +1.
On Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 672k (8.7%) at 1.45pm and 967k (6.5%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 268k (3.4%) at 1.15pm, 654k (3.8%) at 6pm and 382k (2.0%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.46m (19.3%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
