Coronation Street soared above the 10 million mark on Monday evening (March 18) with the soap's dramatic fire scenes, overnight figures show.
9.9m (40.8%) watched on ITV at 7.30pm and 185k (0.7%) on +1 as Karl set fire to the Rovers Return, while 10.27m (40.0%) tuned in at 8.30pm and 286k (1.2%) on +1 to see Stella and Sunita left terrified as they were both trapped inside the burning pub.
EastEnders appealed to 7.9m (31.7%) at 8pm on BBC One as Liam's gang storyline continued, while 392k (2.8%) watched BBC Three's repeat screening at 10.30pm.
Emmerdale interested 7.41m (33.7%) at 7pm on ITV and 172k (0.7%) on +1 as Bob pledged his support to Brenda.
Hollyoaks gripped 1.15m (5.6%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 120k (0.5%) on +1 as Walker played a sick game with Brendan, while E4's first look had 808k (3.7%) at 7pm and 164k (0.7%) on +1.
On Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 790k (10.3%) at 1.45pm and 1.01m (6.0%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 788k (4.1%) at 6pm and 440k (2.2%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.61m (21.0%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
