EastEnders tops Tuesday evening's soap ratings

EastEnders was Tuesday evening's (January 29) most-watched soap with the latest developments in the Masood and Ayesha storyline, overnight figures show.

The Walford drama pulled in 8.24m (36.3%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Ayesha left Masood stunned by declaring her love for him. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 605k (4.0%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale, meanwhile, attracted 7.26m (33.2%) at 7pm on ITV and 136k (0.6%) on +1 as Lisa caught Belle in a compromising position with Luke.

Holby City interested 5.21m (22.2%) at 8pm on BBC One with an episode titled 'The Waiting Game'.

Hollyoaks appealed to 1.02m (4.9%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Ste learned of Doug's return, while E4's first look had 652k (3.0%) at 7pm and 126k (0.5%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 671k (8.5%) at 1.45pm and 892k (5.2%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 625k (3.2%) at 6pm and 438k (2.1%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.68m (21.2%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
