Ratings: 'Emmerdale' falls to six-year ratings low on Friday

Emmerdale dropped to its lowest audience in six years last night (Friday, June 15), according to the latest overnight data.

Due to a delayed Euro 2012 match, the Yorkshire soap was pushed back an hour to 8.30pm, where it mustered 3.64m (13.8%), adding 119k (0.4%) on ITV1 +1.

Like when it sunk to 3.1m during the World Cup in 2006, Emmerdale faced an England match on BBC One, which commanded an average audience of 11m.

Elsewhere, Hollyoaks attracted 742k (3.8%) at 6.30pm (+1: 119k/0.5%), then E4's first look grabbed 409k (2%).

Neighbours drew 730k (9.9%) at lunchtime and 844k (5.4%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away nabbed 669k (3.7%) at 6pm and 352k (1.8%) for 5*'s first look.

Meanwhile, Doctors delivered 1.42m (19.5%) to BBC One at 1.45pm for an instalment titled 'The Stranger'.

The EastEnders Omnibus logged 609k (11%) at 12.15am, by far its highest rating since moving to Friday night from Sunday afternoon.

Well duh!

It was obvious Emmerdale was going to clash with the England game, they should have postponed it till later or else another night. :clown:
