EastEnders was the most-watched soap on Tuesday evening (March 27) as Jay Mitchell wrestled with his conscience, overnight figures show.
EastEnders pulled in 7.67m (38.4%) at 7.30pm as Jay paid a secret visit to the police station over Heather's murder. BBC Three's repeat screening secured a strong 900k (4.8%) at 10pm.
Also on BBC One, Holby City entertained 4.54m (20.3%) at 8pm with an episode titled 'Got No Strings'.
Emmerdale, meanwhile, attracted 6.14m (33.9%) at 7pm and 211k (1.0%) on +1 as Ashley lost control with Sandy.
Hollyoaks managed 862k (5.4%) at 6.30pm as Ash collapsed with meningitis, while E4's first look appealed to 488k (2.7%) at 7pm.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 545k (10.6%) at 1.45pm and 912k (7.5%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 712k (4.9%) at 6pm and 444k (2.8%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors - titled 'Stuck' - was seen by 1.2m (23.6%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
