'Emmerdale' Ashley, Sandy plot seen by 6.6m

Emmerdale topped the soap ratings on Wednesday evening (March 14) but was below the 7m mark, overnight figures show.



Emmerdale pulled in 6.62m (32.8%) at 7pm as Ashley continued to behave cruelly towards Sandy, while 157k (0.7%) caught the episode on ITV1+1.

Waterloo Road, meanwhile, entertained 4.26m (19.0%) at 8pm on BBC One with an important day for Jez.

Hollyoaks grabbed 1.08m (5.7%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 163k (0.8%) on timeshift as Cheryl faced the business competition, while E4's first look secured 583k (2.9%) at 7pm and 119k (0.5%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours managed 763k (10.6%) at 1.45pm and 1.03m (6.9%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 704k (4.1%) at 6pm and 489k (2.6%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors - titled 'Cut Off, Part Two' - was seen by 1.42m (19.8%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
