Tuesday ratings: 'EastEnders' Jack, Roxy drama takes 8.7m

EastEnders topped the soap ratings on Tuesday evening as the build-up to Jack Branning and Roxy Mitchell's custody trial continued, overnight figures show.

EastEnders pulled in 8.72m (38.5%) at 7.30pm as Roxy found out about Jack's forged passport application for Amy. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 818k (4.3%) at 10pm.

Also on BBC One, Holby City entertained 5.66m (24.6%) at 8pm as new consultant Alex Broadhurst arrived at the hospital.

Emmerdale, meanwhile, attracted 7.46m (34.0%) at 7pm and 160k (0.7%) on ITV1+1 for Adam and Aaron's brawl at The Woolpack.

Hollyoaks appealed to 1.07m (5.2%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Darren celebrated his stag night, while the next developments in the secret wedding plot brought 594k (2.7%) to E4's first look at 7pm and 101k (0.4%) to E4+1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours mustered 850k (10.4%) at 1.45pm and 1.12m (6.6%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 800k (4.1%) at 6pm and 497k (2.4%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors - titled 'Appearances' - was seen by 1.74m (21.5%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
