Ratings: Courtroom drama brings 10m to 'Coronation Street'

Coronation Street brought in a bumper audience for ITV1 on Friday as Frank's fate was sealed. A huge 9.68m (41.7%) watched the 7.30pm episode, with an extra 165k (0.7%) tuning in an hour later.

The second instalment at 8.30pm fared even better, as 9.97m (39.7%) viewers saw Carla confronted by Stella. A further 199k (0.8%) watched on timeshift.

Earlier on ITV1, Emmerdale logged 7.3m (33.9%) as Nicola discovered Jimmy and Carl's secret.

Ben's vicious ways pulled in 8.66m (36.1%) for EastEnders at 8pm, while 698k (3.3%) opted to watch on BBC Three at 10pm. BBC One's Doctors remained strong with 1.58m (21.2%).

Channel 4's Hollyoaks took 1.11m (5.4%) as Callum and George hunted for Phoebe, and 549k (2.5%) turned over to E4 at 7pm for a first look at the next episode.

Neighbours summoned 731k (9.8%) for Channel 5 in its afternoon slot, but improved to 1.08m (6.3%) at 5.30pm. Home and Away followed at 6pm with 699k (3.6%).
