Coronation Street's ratings were boosted by Keith Duffy's exit last night.
Ciaran and Michelle's heartbreaking split was seen by 8.42m (36.2%) at 8.30pm and 133k on ITV1 +1. The build-up episode at 7.30pm pulled in 8.52m (38.2%) and 106k on timeshift.
Elsewhere, 8.12m (35.2%) watched Jo Joyner's much-praised performance in an emotional EastEnders at 8pm. BBC Three's 10pm repeat added 617k (2.8%).
Meanwhile, the village's backlash against Cain Dingle in Emmerdale was enjoyed by 7.03m (33.4%).
Channel 4's Hollyoaks mustered 1.05m (5.1%) at 6.30pm and 471k (2.2%) for E4's first look half an hour later, while daytime favourite Doctors averaged 1.51m (20.3%).
Australia's Neighbours took 680k (9.1%) at 1.45pm, collecting a further 1.28m (7.6%) at 5.30pm. Some 908k (4.8%) tuned in for Home and Away, and 5*'s first look had an impressive 647k (3.2%).
