Coronation Street eclipsed EastEnders again in the Monday night ratings battle as Fiz's trial began, according to overnight audience data.
ITV1's Coronation Street averaged 9.15m (40%) from 7.30pm with John's distant vigil while Fiz was led into court. The soap was seen by 8.88m (35.9%) from 8.30pm and 143k (0.6%) on +1 as Fiz started to fear that she had no hope of escaping a prison sentence.
On EastEnders, Christian's dawning realisation that Syed had been lying to him over Amira appealed to 8.66m (34.7%) on BBC One from 8pm. A further 638k (3%) caught BBC Three's repeat screening from 10pm.
Emmerdale was watched by 7.64m (34.2%) on ITV1 from 7pm and 106k (0.4%) on +1 as Gennie handed in her notice to the Sharma brothers.
Elsewhere, Hollyoaks was seen by 1.31m (6.2%) on Channel 4 from 6.30pm and a further 107k (0.4%) tuned in on +1. E4's first look showing was seen by 566k (2.5%) from 7pm.
Doctors averaged 1.51m (19.5%) for BBC One from 1.45pm, while Neighbours had 661k (8.5%) on Channel 5. Neighbours also fetched 1.21m (7.6%) for its repeat from 5.30pm.
Home And Away managed 998k (5.2%) on Channel 4 from 6.30pm, before 5*'s first look at the next episode pulled in 533k (2.5%).
