Coronation Street was the most-watched programme on Easter Monday (April 6), overnight figures show.

6.89m (33.8%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 177k (0.8%) on +1 as Owen lashed out at Craig and Kirk in the aftermath of Faye's labour, while the audience increased to 6.98m (30.2%) at 8.30pm and 226k (1.0%) on +1 as Owen received a visit from the police following his violent outburst.

EastEnders wasn't far behind as 6.54m (28.9%) saw the fallout from Dean and Buster's returns at 8pm on BBC One. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 313k (2.3%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale interested 5.38m (28.8%) at 7pm on ITV and 121k (0.5%) on +1 as desperate Laurel broke into the village hall to steal alcohol.

Hollyoaks claimed 708k (4.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Patrick revealed his secret to Theresa, while E4's first look followed with 431k (2.3%) at 7pm and 145k (0.6%) on +1.

Neighbours managed 465k (6.1%) at the earlier time of 1.15pm on Channel 5, while a repeat of Neighbours 30th: The Stars Reunite followed with 212k (3.0%) at 1.45pm. 617k (4.7%) caught the teatime screening of Neighbours at 5.30pm.

Home and Away mustered 168k (2.2%) at 12.45pm and 485k (3.2%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 274k (1.6%) at 6.30pm.
