The Weatherfield drama was the most-watched show of the day, bringing in 7.24m (33.3%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 212k (0.9%) on +1 as Michelle went on a date with newcomer Hamish.
EastEnders dipped outside of its usual day and slot, attracting 6.3m (26.9%) at 8.30pm on BBC One as Charlie refused to take care of his newborn baby. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 309k (2.1%) at 10.30pm.
Emmerdale interested 6.11m (29.6%) at 7pm on ITV and 144k (0.7%) on +1 as Cain received a worrying diagnosis at the hospital.
Hollyoaks appealed to 997k (5.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 120k (0.6%) on +1 with Leela's discovery of Cameron's secret, while E4's first look topped the day's multichannel ratings with 859k (4.2%) at 7pm and 131k (0.6%) on +1.
Neighbours managed 764k (9.7%) at 1.45pm and 787k (4.9%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Rain's manipulative behaviour continued.
Home and Away mustered 277k (3.4%) at 1.15pm and 524k (2.8%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 382k (1.9%) at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, Doctors continued with 1.59m (20.3%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
