Tosh's rage seen by 6.7m on Tuesday's EastEnders

EastEnders was Tuesday's most-watched soap (December 9) with the latest dark developments in Tina and Tosh's relationship, overnight figures show.

Recovering well from Monday's dip against the Royal Variety Performance, the Walford drama pulled in 6.71m (31.6%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Tosh viciously attacked Tina after growing suspicious over her friendship with Sonia. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 287k (2.0%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale remained steady with 6.07m (30.9%) at 7pm on ITV and 130k (0.6%) on +1 as the full extent of Belle's troubles were revealed.

Holby City attracted 4.15m (18.0%) at 8pm on BBC One with Amy's labour scenes.

Hollyoaks managed 1.06m (5.5%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with Ste and John Paul's engagement. E4's first look topped the day's multichannel ratings with 812k (4.1%) at 7pm and 202k (0.9%) on +1.

Home and Away rose to 328k (4.7%) at the slightly later time of 1.30pm on Channel 5, while 693k (3.9%) caught the teatime screening at 6pm. 5*'s first look had 398k (2.1%) at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, Doctors was seen by 1.7m (25.3%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
