Emmerdale's hour-long episode averaged 5.99m (29.3%) at 7pm on ITV and 288k (1.4%) on +1 as Priya and Rakesh called off their arranged marriage on the day of the wedding.

EastEnders attracted 5.8m (26.9%) at 7.30pm on BBC One with the emotional aftermath of Linda's rape ordeal. However, during the 30-minute clash period itself, Emmerdale had 5.76m and a 26.8% share - making EastEnders the winner of the direct head-to-head period.

The result was an unusual one as EastEnders traditionally loses out when an hour-long Emmerdale has a head-start in the schedules. BBC Three's repeat screening of EastEnders secured 124k (6.5%) at the later time of 1.30am.

Holby City pulled in 3.77m (17.9%) at 8pm on BBC One as Zosia's erratic behaviour continued, dipping slightly against ITV's coverage of the Pride of Britain Awards.

Hollyoaks interested 1.01m (5.7%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Big Bob's hospital siege got under way, while E4's first look followed with 776k (4.0%) at 7pm and 162k (0.8%) on +1.

Neighbours mustered 645k (9.7%) at 1.45pm and 828k (6.1%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 with the aftermath of Chris's attack.

Home and Away entertained 279k (4.1%) at 1.15pm and 552k (3.4%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 394k (2.2%) at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.4m (21.1%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
