Coronation Street was above the 8 million mark on Wednesday evening (December 11) as Gail was forced to choose between her two sons, overnight figures show.
8.13m (38.7%) watched at 7.30pm on ITV and 230k (1.0%) on +1 as an emotional Gail asked David to move away to make life easier for Nick.
Emmerdale interested 6.67m (34.0%) at 7pm on ITV as Megan decided to leave Home Farm, adding 147k (0.7%) on +1.
Hollyoaks attracted 832k (4.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Tegan was attacked, while E4's first look followed with 710k (3.6%) at 7pm and 182k (0.8%) on +1.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 564k (9.0%) at 1.45pm and 906k (5.8%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 242k (3.8%) at 1.15pm, 600k (3.4%) at 6pm and 408k (2.1%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.34m (21.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
