EastEnders stays ahead of Emmerdale in the soap ratings

EastEnders was Thursday evening's (November 14) top-rated soap as Phil Mitchell came close to killing Carl White, overnight figures show.

7.34m (34.4%) tuned in at 7.30pm on BBC One as Carl managed to save himself by insinuating that he had harmed Shirley. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 560k (3.7%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale attracted 6.92m (33.7%) at 7pm on ITV as Amy arrived at the ferry terminal with Kyle, while 6.71m (30.1%) returned at 8pm and 257k (1.2%) on +1 for Amy's final decision over her son and her emotional exit.

Hollyoaks interested 1.07m (5.5%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Phoebe was jilted by Vincent at their wedding, while the aftermath brought 710k (3.4%) to E4's first look at 7pm and 120k (0.5%) to E4+1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours appealed to 537k (8.0%) at 1.45pm and 895k (5.6%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 170k (2.4%) at 1.15pm, 680k (3.8%) at 6pm and 468k (2.4%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.51m (22.9%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
