Coronation Street remains Friday evening's most-watched soap

Coronation Street was Friday evening's (May 3) most-watched soap with a Stella-centric double bill, overnight figures show.

The Weatherfield drama pulled in 7.7m (38.2%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 168k (0.8%) on +1 as Stella shared her financial woes with Leanne, while 7.32m (33.0%) returned at 8.30pm and 240k (1.1%) on +1 to see Leanne's ultimatum to her mum.

EastEnders managed 6.47m (30.4%) at 8pm on BBC One as Lola confronted Sharon over her painkiller addiction. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 414k (2.7%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale interested 6.11m (33.3%) at 7pm on ITV as Chas secretly followed Cameron, adding 130k (0.6%) on +1.

Hollyoaks brought 774k (4.5%) to Channel 4 at 6.30pm as Tony's health crisis was revealed, while E4's first look had 407k (2.2%) at 7pm.

On Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 556k (8.5%) at 1.45pm and 1.01m (7.4%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 209k (3.2%) at 1.15pm, 654k (4.1%) at 6pm and 396k (2.3%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.45m (22.0%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
