'Emmerdale', 'EastEnders' dented by Thursday schedule clash

Emmerdale was the most-watched soap on first-run showings last night (April 25), but was dented by its latest scheduling clash with EastEnders, overnight figures show.

An hour-long visit to the Dales pulled in 5.88m (31.1%) from 6.45pm on ITV as Charity's suspicions grew over Jai and Rachel, adding 328k (1.5%) on +1.

EastEnders was close behind with 5.81m (28.0%) tuning in for Liam Butcher's terror at 7.30pm on BBC One. BBC Three's repeat screening later saw a boost with 710k (4.8%) watching at 10.30pm.

Hollyoaks also pulled in a lower audience than usual with 643k (3.7%) watching Texas's shock discovery at 6.30pm on Channel 4. However, E4's first look remained popular with 596k (3.2%) at 7pm and 142k (0.7%) on +1.

On Channel 5, Neighbours appealed to 673k (10.3%) at 1.45pm and 988k (7.2%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away interested 241k (3.6%) at 1.15pm, 806k (5.2%) at 6pm and 430k (2.5%) with 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.46m (22.6%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
